“What’s happening?!” Kon Bokun shouted.
“She’s dying!” Yelled another creature.
“But I gave her a Pearl!,” Gum whined.
“You did it wrong!” Bokun snapped. “Hurry, give her another one!”
Gum let go of Kiddo’s legs and fumbled at her waist for a small pouch containing the little iridescent balls that make breathing underwater possible.
Kiddo carefully peeked between her lashes and saw that this may be her only chance. She kicked as hard as she could with both legs, right into Gum’s chest causing loose pearls to float from the bag. Her momentum slammed the back of her head into the face of Kon Bokun. It hurt, but she continued to kick as fast as she could. The third creature was stunned motionless by Kiddo’s reanimation.
Bokun rubbed her nose where Kiddo’s head had smacked it and snuffly yelled, “GED HER!”
Kiddo didn’t see a large shadowy shape coming towards them as she swam away, but the monster with the bag, Gum, did.
Gum screamed as she swam away, ”NO! A GIGANTICUS! Fleeeeee!”
Kon Bokun and the other creature turned to see what had scared Gum. A large shark-like shadow was moving towards them from the murky darkness. Then they, too, screamed and swam quickly away.

I had a LOT of fun drawing these pages. I think page 32 may be my favorite so far. Action and sound effects are cool to make. I’m mean you can practically feel that head slam. CRACK! 😂
